A bitter crystalline compound, C₃₀H₃₄O₁₃, derived from the seed of a tropical Asian woody vine (Anamirta cocculus) and used as a stimulant, especially in treating barbiturate poisoning.

A bitter poisonous principle which exists in the seeds of Anamirta Cocculus (A. paniculata), from which it is extracted by the action of water and alcohol.
