An obsolete form of jamb.

[OF.: see jamb. Cf. jambieres.] Armor for the leg, sometimes made of cuir-bouilli, but most frequently of metal, much used during the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth centuries. See solleret, and second cut under armor.

In heraldry, same as gamb.
