In astrology, to transit the place which any of the four moderators has reached by direction.

A going in; the act of entering or passing in; entrance.

Provision for going in; a place of entrance: as, the ingress and egress are on opposite sides.

In astronomy, the entrance of the sun into a sign of the zodiac, or of a planet upon the disk of the sun in a transit; in astrology, the transit over the part of the zodiac occupied by the sun, moon, medium cæli, or ascendant.
